Dear Geoff,

The new Wrapco ecommerce website has now been operational for over 6 months. I would like to thank you and the team at IWS who developed our site and maintained it since.

Basing the site on the Joomla / Virtuemart framework has proven to be a 100% correct decision. Although not the easiest program to work in, Joomla and Virtuemart have proven to be rock solid, stable and capable of handling huge amounts of traffic.

Recently our company had a clearing sale that was inadvertently promoted by others on the net. During a three day period our site had over 1.7 million hits, 1.2 million files downloaded and 100,000 page views. At one stage I witnessed 100’s of potential customers on our site. Amazing! We were delighted that the site stood up to this assault and of course the ensuing orders that were placed. It absolutely convinced us that we had made the right decision in going with your proposal. It has also demonstrated that the host for our site was able to cope as well and is also an excellent decision.

Geoff your suggestion to use Eway as the clearing gateway was also excellent. Eway has provided outstanding service and to date we have had 100% success rate with all transactions submitted through them. Security, always a concern for our prospective clients, has not been a problem and having viewed online their security arrangements I am totally happy with Eway.

Our website is an integral part of our overall marketing and sales strategy. Our major demographic are woman aged 30 to 60 who do not have very high computer literacy. Yet via our site we are finding that the demographic we deal with, enjoy having the ability to shop online after hours or during times that most suit them. A survey of existing clients revealed that most wanted this ability instead of being hassled by sales representatives. Needless to say, we no longer employ sales reps, the website does this job for us, better, more efficiently and with fewer complications.

Not all of our clients purchase via the site but ongoing education and monetary inducements in the form of discounts, have convinced clients to change. An unexpected benefit to us that we hadn’t expected was the improvement in cash flow that these sales have generated. Accounts can delay payment for goods for months but now we find clients paying by credit card immediately and happy to do so.

We are now proceeding to the next stage of integrating orders from our site automatically into MYOB. I expect this to greatly improve the flow through of order in take and payment settlements. Hopefully this will reduce the need to employ staff in what can be fairly mundane work. With the same program we intend to complete the full sale cycle with an auto send of emails saying that client’s goods are dispatched and incorporating a parcel tracking number.

Geoff, as you know we are a small family owned business with less than 10 staff. We love what we do, designing and producing great gift wrapping products. The web has allowed us to demonstrate to clients that we are a creditable company to deal with and now does most of the dealing for us. This allows us to enjoy pursuing the things we do well (which is not face to face selling) and customers love us for that.
